Job Posting

We are currently hiring for full time firefighter positions. 

Position Title: Firefighter

Annual Salary: $38,640.00 – $40,200.00, plus paid health insurance coverage for employee & a
retirement package.

Work Shifts:  24 hour shift on and 48 hours off (24/48) with hours being
from 8:00 am until 8:00 am. All holidays are considered as regular workday of this position.

The Firefighter will have the responsibility to ensure that the fire department’s apparatus, equipment and facilities are maintained at the appropriate readiness levels to respond to a variety of life saving emergency calls. Our Part-Time Firefighters are primarily responsible for performing difficult and lifesaving work at emergency scenes including fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical care and general preparatory work at the fifire stationchecking equipment for proper operation and general condition, and performing and assisting with routine maintenance of apparatus and equipment.

Firefighter Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Possession of a valid N.C. driver’s license
  • Certified NC Level II Firefighter – Preferred or ability to obtain
  • Certified NC Medical Responder (EMT- Preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire date)
  • Health Insurance Coverage for employee (Paid by the Department)
  • Vacation- 6 hours accrual per pay period
  • Sick- 6 hours accrual per pay period
  • IRA- Department matching up to 3%
  • Accidental/Cancer Supplemental Insurance for employee (Paid by the Department)
  • Holiday Pay
  • Pay Cycle – Paid every two weeks

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a medical evaluation, drug test and criminal background check.

  • Copies of all your Fire or Emergency Service Related Certifications (All Certifications)
